Description
View of one of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party at a Manasir encampment in Baynunah sands. Sahail bin Tahi, a tribesman of the Mudairiba lineage of Rashid Bedouin and one Wilfred Thesiger's companions, walks past a thick clump of vegetation holding a camel stick. Behind him blankets, mats, and a dog lie in front of a striped tent of belonging to a group of Manasir Bedouin. In the distance beyond two camels graze on vegetation in a vast sand flat. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's journey from Al Ain to Liwa oasis, Al Dhafra and Baynunah sands in November and December 1948.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
