Description

Standing full length portrait of a member of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, a tribesman of the Junuba Bedouin, near Al Qabil at the southern end of Jabal Hafit (Jebel Hafeet). The man stands facing forward on a scatter of stones, holding a head rope in his hands. He wears a khanjar (dagger) on a cartridge belt over his thobe (shirt) and an 'agal (head rope) over his headscarf. Beside him, on the right, two rifles lie on stones. In the far background trees grow on the flat.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
