Description
Half length portrait of Huaishil and Yasir bin Hamud, two of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling companions, outside Al Muwaiji Fort in Al Ain. Huaishil, a sheikh of the Mahamid lineage of Duru Bedouin, stands on the left. Yasir bin Hamud, a sheikh of the Junuba Bedouin, stands on the right. Each man wears a light coloured thobe (shirt) and an embroidered headscarf, and both squint into the sun. Behind them the walls of Al Muwaiji Fort run into the distance on the right.
