Description
View of two members of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party trekking through Al Batin sands, near Liwa oasis, in the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali). The men, tribesmen of the Bayt Imani lineage of Rashid Bedouin, ride camels across a softly ridged dune. Each man's mount is followed by a baggage camel on a lead. In the foreground a few bushes grow on the side of the dune. In the far distance at the left a salt flat (sabkha) lies below a high dune massif rising along the horizon.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
