View of sailors on a dhow (sailboat) travelling through the Persian Gulf from Dubai to Bahrain Island. On the right three men stand at the side of the ship. Two of the men are on a trunk, one man standing, the other crouching by the poop rail. To their left the third man stands on the deck, pulling a thick rope. On the far left two more men stand near the mast, and in the background a large white sail billows out with the wind. In the background the choppy sea sits beneath a clear sky. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's May 18-28, 1948 journey by dhow from Dubai to Bahrain Island.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
