Description
Standing portrait of a member of Wilfred Thesiger's travelling party, a tribesman of the Junuba Bedouin, at the southern end of Jabal Hafit (Jebel Hafeet), near Al Qabil. A middle-aged man with a long dark beard stands in the foreground beside a few couched camels. He is holding a length of rope and carrying a rifle. He wears a khanjar (dagger) on a cartridge belt over his thobe (shirt) and a plain headscarf. In the far right distance a few more members of the party stand with their camels on the flat. In the far background a number of trees grow on the flat below Jabal Hafit (Jebel Hafeet), which rises in the distance.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
