Description

Several hundred years old 30ft high Buddha figure, carved out of rock in Kyi Chu Valley, housed in a stone built shelter, 12 miles below Lhasa. The vertical lines on the figure are caused by water dripping through the roof above. Man seated at entrance shows the height of the figure. A pile of stones lies next to the entrance of the shelter.

Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
